This tool uses Quagga.js, a powerful JavaScript library based on the ZXing barcode scanning engine. Quagga provides excellent browser support across all modern devices without requiring special APIs.

Two Scanning Modes:

Automatic Mode: Continuously scans the camera feed for real-time detection. Perfect for high-volume scanning and inventory tracking.
Manual Mode: Press the "Capture Frame" button to scan one barcode at a time. Offers more control and precision.

Omni-Directional Reading: Barcode orientation doesn't matter. The full-frame scanning area detects barcodes in any orientation, anywhere within the camera view. Upload images to extract barcode data from existing photos or screenshots.

Privacy Guarantee: All processing happens locally in your browser. Your camera feed and uploaded images are never sent to any server, and no data is stored beyond your current session.

Absolutely. All camera processing happens locally in your browser using JavaScript. No data leaves your device. The browser prompts you to grant camera permission, and you can revoke it anytime in your browser settings.

Can I use this offline? ➕

Once loaded, all functionality works offline. However, the initial page load requires internet to download Quagga.js library. After that, you can close the connection and scanning will continue to work.

What's the accuracy rate? ➕

Quagga.js has excellent accuracy on clear, well-lit barcodes (95%+ detection rate). Accuracy depends on barcode quality, lighting conditions, and camera focus. Damaged or poorly positioned barcodes may require repositioning.

Can I scan multiple barcodes at once? ➕

The tool detects one barcode at a time. However, if you scan the same barcode multiple times, the tool automatically counts and tracks it in the results. A 1.5-second cooldown prevents accidental duplicate scans.

Can I upload an image instead of using my camera? ➕

Yes! Click the "Upload Image" tab on the welcome screen. You can upload any image containing a barcode, and the tool will automatically detect and extract the barcode information. Perfect for scanning barcodes from screenshots, photos, or existing product images.

What's the difference between Automatic and Manual mode? ➕

Automatic Mode: Continuously scans the camera feed in real-time. Ideal for high-volume scanning and inventory tracking. The 1.5-second cooldown prevents duplicate rapid scans of the same barcode.

Manual Mode: Requires you to press the "Capture Frame" button for each scan. Useful when you want more control and precision, or to scan specific barcodes one at a time.

Can the scanner detect multiple barcodes at once? ➕

The scanner detects one barcode per frame. However, with full-frame omni-directional reading, it can detect barcodes in any orientation anywhere within the camera view. In automatic mode, quickly scan multiple items by pointing the camera at each one. In manual mode, press the button for each barcode you want to capture.

How do I export my scans? ➕

Click the "Export to CSV" button while scanning. This downloads a spreadsheet with all your scans, including barcode code, format, count, and timestamps. Perfect for inventory tracking.
